Il centrocampista dell'Internacional di Porto Alegre, che ha vinto la Copa Libertadores, ha raccolto 61 voti contro 51 di dell'ex Lazio ed Inter Juan Sebastian Veron (Estudiantes), che era campione in carica. Terzo posto (47 voti) per il brasiliano Neymar (Santos).
